Do Make a Statement
Statement pieces are all the rage at the moment. We're being bold with our lip color, our shoes, our bag...you name it!
I know for us ladies when we step out we are definitely out to make an announcement that we've arrived and all eyes need to zoom in on me...just for a second and then you can carry on with what you were doing.
I know when I get dressed in the morning, I look for that one piece that's going to make my outfit pop. If it's my hair, then I'll let my hair shine. If it's my make up, I'll let that do it's thing. If it's my jewelery, then I'll let that represent.
Take chances with your outfits. You can take the simplist outfit and turn it into something spectacular with just one thing. Have fun and let your personality be free!

I've been slacking big time on my post and I apologize for that. I have defintely missed blog-world but just haven't had the time. Here we go!
Found this BEAUTIFUL vintage handmade piece at Goodwill for...$5...that's right! I can't wait until it gets a little cooler outside to sport this piece around.
I paired this with a pair of skinny jeans and motorcycle boots just for an edgy look but you can pair something like this with a pair of tights or black stockings and a leopard heel or black heel if you aren't feeling that daring. You can do a lot of things with this but I'd keep it pretty simple and allow that piece to be the center focus!

Every Woman Needs...

A pair of amazing graphic, textured, fan-tab-ulous shoes!
I got this pair of Steve Madden's at one of my most favorite of places to shop Buffalo Exchange in Austin, Texas for under $20. It was definiately a steal considering the shoes were nearly unworn!
I have to tell you, it's thrift finds like this that keep me shopping.
I love wearing these with something basic to a pair of jeans and a white tee to a floral patterned dress with colored tights. From basic to complicated, a pair of fun shoes will not only make you look done-up but make you feel done-up.
Don't be afraid to strut your stuff and a freeing pair of whimsical funky kicks!

Style Tips Fm. A Wedding Tradition
Here are 5 easy style tips taken from the Old English wedding tradition...
1) Something Old -
This can be something passed on from someone in your family or a friend, usually a piece of jewelry because that keeps through time better then clothing that often times need serious repair.
My mother has lots of cool jewelry that I've "borrowed" (with no intent on giving it back). Rings, earrings, bracelets, necklaces, and even scarves are good hand-me-downs!
2) Something New -
This something new is most likely a more current item that has recently become a fad (i.e. skinny jeans, tribal prints).
3) Something Borrowed -
Me and my sister borrow from each other ALL-THE-TIME! That's a perk about having a sister or girl friend that you live with; your wardrobe literally doubles! All though we both have different styles we sometimes need that one item that the other has to make the outfit we're wearing "perfect"!
4) Something Blue -
In this case, I'm just going to say, "Something Colorful". Don't be afraid of color! Metephorically, a world without color is bor-ring...and drab. Using color for the first time is something you've got to get used to doing. Take it one small step at a time. Start by wearing bold nail polish, then go for a bold scarf or accessory, next go for a shoe! The next thing you know is you'll be a color expert...
5) A piece of Sixpence -
Many may not know that there are actually five wedding traditions, being given a sixpence, which is a coin, being the fifth. I've learned to always carry at least twenty dollars cash on me. I've been in situations where I wasn't able to use my plastic and wish I had cash on me. So, when you get paid, withdrawl a twenty and keep it in your wallet for that "situation". HA!

Never Leave Home w/o It!
As a lady, there are a few things that you should never-ever leave home without...
~Never leave home w/o a smile on your face; especially with all that's going on in the world today. People need hope! People need peace!
~Never leave home w/o peace of mind; Again, there's so much going on. So many decisions that we make on a day-to-day bases. Let peace rule and reign in your heart and mind. Don't make choices without thought or out of anger, that's not a good look...
~Never leave home w/o the essence of humility; There is nothing more precious then a woman that knows that her true power comes from her servitude.
~Never leave home w/o a song; When things get a little sticky for you or someone you're near, pull out your "happy song" and do a little jig. It's always time for a party!!!
~Never leave home w/o a dollar or two in your coin purse; You're bound to run into someone who needs it...
~Never leave home w/o a vision; You've got to know where you're going and when you get there...WORK THAT THANG!
~Never leave home w/o a good book; Take five minutes out of your day (or more if you can) to sneak away into another world
~Never leave home w/o a bottle of water; Simply to keep hydrated!
~Finally, Never leave home w/o knowing who you are! You are beautifully created to be unique and rare. There is no one else that has your make up. When you were created, the pattern was archived. You are an original master piece. Every thing that is you is loved dearly and strategically placed by your Maker...You're Beautiful!
