MOTHER'S DAY GIFT IDEAS...by MW

If you’re mommy is anything like mine the only thing she really wants from her kids on Mother’s Day (or any day for that matter) is to spend good quality time together. Allow your mother to cherish a sweet moment with you (if possible). Do her hair, paint her nails, actually take her on a shopping trip, or a movie on the couch eating all kinds of yummy junk food!

Again, if you’re like me, you don’t live near your mother and your unable to spend QT with her personally. Can I suggest then that you pull out some retro ideas. Do you remember when you were in grade school you made your mother cards and gifts in school for mother’s day? Why not do something like that.

Allow your creative juices to flow and give your mother some time spent into making her a unique piece of art that she can proudly show off. I’m not able to go home this weekend to love on my mother but I’m going to surely (lol, my mother’s name is Shirley) put some time into creating something special for her and sending it off it a nice little package for her to open up!

We’re in the age of the internet and so many of us are on Pintrest and the other DIY sites, so look up something fun and love on your mommy in a special way.

IDEAS:

-make soap, candles, lotion, oil perfumes and use special containers that you can easily purchase from a thrift store (great for finding antiques)

-make her a photo album or special book for her to reminisce on

-make her a card and paper flowers

-paint something

-write her a poem and frame it (again you find a great inexpensive frame from any second hand store)

-a collage, find stuff that remind you of her and create a fun shadow box)

-write and record a song for her (doesn’t have to be “fantastic” just fun, everyone has access to something that records…I’m sure of it)

-make some jewelry and send it to her in a nice pretty box from the craft store

-a plant and paint the pot yourself

The possibilities are endless…
